I started Posh Nails as a wide-eyed twentysomething with a lot to say and a lot to prove. I wanted a beauty business where people go to feel pampered — and I wanted to build it entirely on my own. The past 24 years have been the most thrilling and challenging years of my life.
And I believe every aspiring entrepreneur should be able to experience the sense of fulfillment that has kept me going through everything.

Cat Ilacad didn't start out as a business mentor. She started as a business owner. In the early 2000s, she founded Posh Nails — a nail salon she grew from a single location into a recognized brand built entirely on her own drive, instincts, and relentless work ethic.
For years, everything depended on her. Every decision, every client, every operational detail flowed through Cat alone. The business grew — but so did the pressure. She was running her business. Her business was not running without her.
The turning point came when she stopped asking "how do I work harder?" and started asking "how do I build something that works?"
